Memory of the revolt of 1857 is still alive as a hero and inspiration among the people though folklores. But it is not enough to recall these heroes of 1857; some other effective steps should be taken to make popular these heroes in present time so that people of Assam can understand the spirit of nationalism of the colonial period. The revolt ended with failure but its impact is noteworthy which gives the revolt a special place in the history of colonial Assam.
