Urbanization in India began to accelerate after independence, due to the country's adoption of a mixed economy , which gave rise to the development of the private sector. Urbanisation is taking place at a relatively rapid rate in India. Population residing in urban areas in India, according to 1901 census, was 11.4%.

Our India is attaining to develop our country as a best country. in India our government is developing the rural areas into urban areas with proper sanitation, Medical facilities, Educational facilities and so on. Developing of rural areas into urban areas is known as Urbanisation. Urbanisation plays an important role in living of people. If the rural areas develop then our facilities will develop. Government is providing them with medical facilities like building hospitals, medical centres,etc. Educational facilities like building schools etc.
