Answer:

The period from c.1000 – 1200 CE is referred to as the age of conflict and it led to the breakdown of the Gurjara-Pratiharas, the Palas and the Rashtrakutas (the tripartite powers) into smaller kingdoms all over the country. The fragmentation of the Pratiharas in northern India resulted in the formation of a number of Rajput states which were ruled by different Rajput dynasties such as Chandellas, Chahamanas (Chauhans), the Paramaras of Malwa, etc. This is an important part of Indian history and forms a significant part of the india.
