Timur was Turkish chief who ruled over a large empire in Central Asia. In 1398 A.D, he invaded the Delhi Sultanate ruled by Sultan Nasir-ud-din Mahmud Shah Tughluq of the Tughluq Dynasty. The battle took place between his army and the Sultan's army on 17 December 1938.It gave a severe blow to the Tughluq rule.
