Many tribes obtained their livelihood from agriculture. Others were hunter-gatherers or herders. The nomadic pastoralists and nomads moved from one place to another with their animals. Theyexchanged wool, ghee, milk etc with settled agriculturists for grain, cloth, utensils and other products. One such type of nomadic group was banjaras. Their caravan was called Tanda.
