• The forests of India and world are divided into different categories according to amount of rainfall received by plants and amount of rainfall along with other factors decide types of vegetation that will grow in area.
• Since, region is receiving rainfall less than 70 cm annually so, plants growing here are temperature resistant and also has several modifications to counter water scarcity.
• So, main plants found in these areas are species of cactus and other xerophytic plants.These are called thorn forests because majority of plants have natural thorns to repel herbivores and other predpredators.
