Lower Organisms like bacteria and plants like algae and fungi asexually by fission, fragmentation or by the formation of spores. In some higher plants,the vegetative parts of the plant like the root, stem or leaf also help in producing new plants. This is called vegetative propagation. Vegetative propagation is a form of asexual reproduction of a plant. Only one plant is involved and the offspring is the result of one parent. The new plant is genetically identical to the parent.
