Writing sources are those documents or manuscripts which are written or printed in clear handwriting and gives us some information about the past.  Written sources of history include reports, files, documents, papers and newspapers.  It can be both a primary and secondary source because of its origin.  They are more reliable than oral sources because they are more accurate and can be preserved for a long period of time.
