Arijit Singh is my favourite singer. He is basically a Hindi singer, but also sings in Bengali (being a Bengali himself). Hindi songs often have a few lines in Punjabi, he sings them too, so you may call him a Punjabi singer also. He has also sung one song in Tamil.

The thing which makes him my favourite is his voice. His singing is flawless, mesmerizing,... But many great singers have accomplished that level of singing. The way he sings often leaves people teary eyed (me too), the way he combines the notes, the way he controls his pitch, that alone could be enough to make people love him. But what outstands him is his mesmerizing, deep, full of emotions and just perfect voice. His versatility is also a plus point for him to be admired. His songs have the power to make anyone miss their lover even if they never had a lover :P.

And again another which makes him too-perfect-a-celebrity is his humility. He is a very down-to-earth and shy types, not like the proudy ones thinking everyone else unworthy...

70% of the reason why I admire him the most is his voice and 15-15% his nature (which gets reflected in his singing) and his singing and songs.

If you understand any of the languages mentioned above, you should definitely listen to him.
