The pH of our mouth is very important because if there are change in the pH that will effect the health of our teeth and our gums.

  • To take the alkaline food in large content can harm our teeth, by increasing the pH level.
  • The tooth decay starts when the pH is 5.5 in the mouth. The neutral level is 7.0.
  • When we eat some food containing acidic amount like lemon or anything like it than will decrease the pH level of out mouth and leads to dental plaque.
  • With this it start creating cavity-causing bacteria.
  • Eating food items having sugar content also leads to change of pH.
  • Therefore its mandatory to have pH value 7.0 or near by it.
