Parallax error mainly happens when the object is viewed from an angle due to the wrong positioning of eye. The first way to curb this error is to orient your eyes in a straight line. Your eyes should be in a straight line directly above the marking on your device, be it a scale or a Vernier caliper etc.
A "curved line" or a "curvy line" or simply a "curve" is said to be a line that is not straight, i.e. a curve is something that is bent. It is said to be the generalization of a line where the curvature is not zero. Ideally, in mathematics, a curve has to be smooth and continuous. The curves have different definitions in the different disciplines of mathematics depending upon the field of study. There may be some special instances in which the definition of a curve may differ from the traditional one. A curve can be defined as the set of points that look like a straight line between two adjacent points. Also, a curve is defined as a topological space that is locally homeomorphic to a line. A parabola is the most simple and ideal example of a curve.
