☛A symbol represent an atom of an element and a formula represents a molecules of a substance .The expression of the process of chemical reaction using molecular formula is known as chemical equation.

• For example :- when potassium chlorate is heated ,potassium chloride and oxygen gas are produced.This reaction is expressed in words in the following way:

Potassium chlorate ➠Potassium chloride + Oxygen ↑
