D R Kaprekar was a recreational mathematician and a schoolmaster. Popularly known as Ganitanand, he is well-known for various publications on a range of topics. These topics include recurring decimals, integers with special properties, and magic squares. One of this greatest contributions was the formation of magic squares that were associated with the Copernicus magic square.
