hey friend,

graphite is a nonmetal .it is a good conductor of electricity.it is a non crystalline form of carbon. graphite is used in making pencil.though , graphite is a good conductor of electricity it is also used as an electrode.

Graphite is a non-metal compound which is derived from carbon.Inspite of being a non metal,graphite is a good conductor of electricity and heat.

Graphite has many practical usage in our daily lifestyle:

1) It is used for making pencil.

2) It is used as a lubricant substance.

3) It is used for making black colours.

Although graphite is a cheap substance but it is undoubtedly a versatile non-metal.
