group 7a elements are also known as halogens. these are the most reactive elements.fluorine,chlorine,bromine,iodine,astatine exists in 7a group elements.the most electronegative element in the periodic table is fluorine and the element with highest electron affinity is chlorine. these elements readily reacts with hydrides mostly fluorine. if suppose fluorine is mixed with water it readily reacts with it and gives a blast even in the presence or absence of sunlight.
