Raja Rammohan was the founder of Brahma sabha. He was a great social religious reformer. He was born on 22nd of May, 1772 in the village Radhanagar.

Raja Rammohan Roy:
Rammohan Roy was an active social reformer of pre-Independence era.
His valuable contribution in the abolition of the inhuman ‘Sati Pratha’ can never be forgotten. He tried to bring social reformation in Bengal.
He was against the caste restrictions and therefore established ‘Brahmo Samaj’ to discard idol worship.
He tried to put an end to the social curses like ‘parda Pratha’ and child marriage existing at that time.
