Explanation:
My dad.
He's a genius (yep, really), but smarts don't always equate to wisdom.
He's been through a lot in life, but that doesn't always do it either.
And he's not a perfect person—but in terms of wisdom, I don't think Solomon had more. Sources of his wisdom (that I spend every day trying to come closer to in my own life):
He has an ability to empathize with others and choose properly among nodding, advising, or action that is darned near unbelievable.
He's able to stand back from even the most emotional situations and assess them like fifty years have passed and he's a casual observer—all so he can inject his crazy-strong sense of fairness and ethics into the moment.
His calm, his deep caring, and his insistence on "right"—in the sense of everyone who can, comes out feeling like they've won—over anyone's personal interests, is so well known that people who may have closer relations choose him to be executor of their estates. A high pressure job indeed. But he never shirks it. In fact I think he's honored and a little proud of being known for his wisdom.
I have some strong second-place finishers in my life, but Dad's absolutely the number one, wisest person I have ever known.
