FATS AND OILS :   These are biomolecules containing carbon with few    oxygen molecules . Based on their structure they are classified as saturated ( solid at room temperature ) and unsaturated (  liquid at room temperature ) . these are used as energy reserves.

TRIGLYCERIDES :  A complex of fatty acid and glycerol

PHOSPHOLIPIDS : Phospholips are complexes of lipids with phosphate groups . These are the main structural components of cell membrane

STEROIDS : These are more complicated in structure . These are known to perform various important functions in the body . FOR EXAMPLE : STEROID HORMONES , CHOLESTEROL.

Answer:

Fats provide long-term energy storage.

Fats provide insulation and protection.

Phospholipids are the main component of cell  membranes.

Waxes provide a waterproof coating on leaves and feathers.

Steroids are part of cell membranes and chemical messengers in the body.
