Newton's second law of motion states that if you apply a force to a body in a direction, then the rate of change of momentum will also be in the same direction. Newton's first and third law of motion are derived from the second law of motion. The fundamental equation for Newton's second law of motion is:

f = ma

This tells us that if we apply a force to a body of mass 'm' them it will have an acceleration 'a'. Higher the mass of the body, more the force required to make the body have the same acceleration.

Hope this helps!!!
