a)Epidermis:-
=>The epidermis is usually present in the outermost layer of the plant body such as leave ,flower,stem and roots.Epidermis is one cell thick and covered with cuticle.The main function of Epidermis is to protect the plant from the desiccation and infection.

b)Cork:-
=>As a plants grow older,the outer protective tissue undergoes certain changed.A strip of Secondary meristem called phellogen or cork cambium replaces Epidermis of stem.Cork cambium is a simple tissue having only one type of cells.The cell of cork cambium are rectangular and their protoplasts are vacuolated .
