The Masai are nomadic pastoralists. They depend on their cattle for their livelihood. They move from place to place in search of water and pasture for their animals. Masai people have managed to maintain their culture over the centuries.

They are famed for their bravery and high jumps which can reach upto 3 meters.

The Masai live in houses called manyattas. These manyattas are made from poles, mud and cowdung.

The Masai wear traditional regalia. They wear shukas and cow hides. They decorate their heads with red ochre.

They eat meat and milk. Masai slaughter their cattle for hides, meat and milk.

They have many rituals and ceremonies. Masai have rites of passage such as circumcision. A sign of bravery for them is the killing of a lion.
