First World War happened from 1914 to 1918 whereas the Second World War started from 1939 and continued till 1945. There are different causes which led to the two World Wars. The common cause which led to the two world wars was that in both the world wars, the European countries wanted to get hold of the entire world.

The causes for World War I were - the rivalry between Anglo-German; Charter of William II and there was a lack of international organisation to control the relationship with other neighbouring countries. The causes that led to the World War II was Treaty of Versailles; incompetency of League of Nations and mainly, refusal of Poland to surrender. These were some of the causes that led to the World Wars.
