Health is the wellbeing of the physical and mental state of a person who has no diseases or illness. Fitness, on the other hand, describes the level of physical activities can person can do on a day to day basis.
An average healthy person can do all of their daily work in a generally positive state of mind.
There is a common proverb that says, “Health is Wealth.”
There is nothing a Healthy person cannot do when they have put their mind to it. A sickly person, on the opposite side, cannot carry out their daily chores without being exhausted, let alone extra work. It is also a challenge for a weak person to have a positive outlook in every aspect of their life.
In a pandemic situation, like now, it becomes complicated to have a positive outlook in life. We are stuck at home most of the day. So we must strive to maintain a healthy bòdy and mind even though we cannot attend many outdoor activities.
To keep our bòdy fit, we should do regular exercises and have a proper diet of healthy foods. In the absence of an active exercise routine and diet, we become lazy and may gain weight.
Gaining weight is not always a bad thing. But too much weight gain may lead to obesity. Obese people have a high risk of diabetes and heart diseases. It is complicated for obese people to go about their daily life when their bodies weigh them down.
There is an average weight; a person should maintain according to their height.
A simple trick to remain healthy is by drinking an adequate amount of water which is about eight glasses of water or four litres of water daily. Why this works is that water flushes out the toxins from our body. Our metabolism rate functions n when we drink an adequate amount of water. Water also controls our rate of hunger and prevents us from overeating.
To remain at home and be healthy is a difficult job. It is essential to be consistent about one’s exercise routine and diet. No good will come if you work out for thirty minutes and then eat junk food.
Exercise and a proper diet go a long way in being healthy. We, humans, are incredibly visual animals. Once we get into an active routine, we can feel our body getting more robust. The visibility of some muscles is sometimes all it requires to keep us motivated.
It is okay to take breaks in between days of exercise. During exercise, we tear our muscle tissues. It is during the days of rest that our muscle tissues recover and become stronger.
It is also crucial to keep in touch with our mental health. It is common to feel lonely in long periods of lockdown. It is advised to keep in touch with our friends and family to avoid feeling lonely. Technology can connect us with our friends and family, even if you cannot be physically present with them.
Much more can be said about being healthy and staying fit. But it comes down to one’s will to remain fit and healthy that can go a long way in improving ourselves.
