Good morning to all my respected teachers and my friends. Todays speech is on topic Hope!

Hope is not just a positive emotion; it plays an important role in helping people meet their goals. Psychology Today describes hope as a motivational system consisting of the determination to achieve one’s goals and strategies for meeting them. Hope gives a person the agility to keep working toward a goal even when obstacles arise and the original strategy for meeting the goal will no longer work.

In short, hope empowers us to achieve the most difficult goals, even in the face of significant obstacles. It is the belief that things can and will get better.

Hope is related to many positive outcomes for young people, including higher academic achievement. When kids have hope, they are more likely to graduate. Students with high levels of hope have greater problem-solving and coping skills. They also report feeling more energized, inspired, and confident—and have higher self-esteem and lower levels of depression. On the other hand, when people lack hope, they give up on their goals more easily and are more likely to engage in negative and risky behavior.

How can youth programs cultivate hope? Giving kids the opportunity to interact with positive adult mentors expands their idea of what is possible for their own lives. Mentors can also help young people troubleshoot obstacles that arise so that they can find a way to keep moving forward no matter what happens. tCI’s youth programs give their participants a chance to interact with mentors and expand their ideas of what is possible. tCI’s life-skills programs for adults also instill hope by giving adults the tools to keep working toward their goals.
