Explanation:

A day so bright and sunny had made the beggars living in 5th avenue feel a little better. Lots of rats scurried around and ate most of the food they had. The rats also nibbled at the beggars’ toes and the beggars only had one rotten blanket to share with. The air was polluted because the town was full of factories. Everyone was starving so a beggar named Molly volunteered to find food around the town. She came back with a lot of left over scrap from the town. She found mushrooms and berries.

Molly went back to the fifth avenue and shared the food around to the beggars. No beggar really liked eating mushrooms, only a small boy named Tobi loved mushrooms. He ate all the mushrooms unfortunately he got very sick and died.

All the beggars started to shout at Molly. They accused her of killing Tobi and forced her to go off and find her own little space to live.

She walked off and set down at 9th Avenue and heard a little noise and she looked down. It was a little baby sniffling. The baby was crawling around by herself. Molly found out that the baby had a cut on her leg. Molly found a piece of grass to bandage the wound. The baby was very comfortable and stopped sniffling, and closed her eyes because Molly comforted her by rocking her in her arm. They both fell asleep.

She did not notice that there was a man looking at her out of the window and smiling. When Molly woke up, she didn’t know where she was. She was sleeping so comfortably and she saw that she was not sleeping on the bare stony ground anymore but a soft bed. She saw the baby was in the little cot next to her.

The man who was looking out of the window at her suddenly appeared! “I have seen you taking care of my baby. I must thank you. I can hire you to be the baby sitter and live in my house. I will pay you.” Said the man. Molly accepted and was soon living peacefully in his house.

Molly remembered the beggars while she was sleeping in her comfy bed. She went back to the fifth avenue and apologized to them. Since Molly had money now, she bought the beggars a basket of food. They didn’t care and sent her off. Molly came back the next day but the beggars still refused. She tried again and again and finally one day when she was about to visit them again, she saw a little beggar crossing the street when a truck nearly crashed into him. She saved him. All the beggars saw it. When Molly walked the little beggar to his home, all the beggars cheered and forgave Molly. They started to talk to Molly and eat the food brought by her. Every day Molly would bring food to them and they all lived peacefully.
