James thought this was wrong and decided to become his friend. Their friendship developed quickly as James said kind words to him every day to make him happy. The boy introduced himself as Matthew. He became happier and more confident. Many boys were not happy with James for hanging around him. Within a short time James and other boys realized that he wasn't the kind of person everybody thought he was. The boys in the community completely stopped making fun of him. Parents too started to greet Matthew when they see him. All the young kids wanted to be in the company of James and Matthew.
Some kind words by James changed Matthew. In the process the hearts of others around him were changed. (Story by Selie Visa)

Kind words will unlock an iron door
Once upon a time there lived a very callous man alone in a palace. Inside his palace was a beautiful park with all the toys, fun-rides, and swings. He never allowed any child to come inside the palace and play there. The park remained quiet and forlorn.
The man once had a wonderful family that had died in an unfortunate accident. After that he had confined himself inside his mansion and neither he went out nor did he allow anyone to come in.
Near that man’s house lived many families; children in these families often felt attracted towards the park but did not dare to go near it.
Among those children was Dolly who was the favorite of all. She was an angel. She spoke like a fairy. Her voice was very polite and soft.
Once, the rich man was walking in the park inside the mansion. Dolly was also playing near the park. She went up to the gate and called out to the man, “Uncle, kindly let the children come inside and play; you also play with them. You won’t feel so lonely ever.” Dolly had said these words so politely that the man could not say no to her. He opened the gate and let the children in. Soon the park began echoing with the playful laughter of children. The rich man felt so peaceful and good. He decided he would always let children play in the park in his mansion.
