Short story about We the people:
Here's a story about a tribe living in the forests areas of Jharkhand who realized there potential as people and was successful in saving their lands.
Meena was a young girl living near Dhumru region of Jharkhand. She belonged to the local Santhal tribe. All her life she had seen her parents and all other members of the community working near the forests. She was taught by her grandparents that forests are their mother.
But recently there has been a huge disappointment among the members of the tribe because of the increase urbanization which allowed the rich contractors to cut down large trees but barred the tribes to even use the fallen leaves. The elders of the tribe decided to revolt against this injustice. For many years there was a constant fight but they didn't gave up and was finally able to not only get their right to their lands but also drove out those mean contractors. That's when young Meena realized the power of unity of people, that's when she realized the message behind the phrase We the people.
