It was a bright, sunny day. The people of our island got a break today after days of continuous rainfall. Schools, colleges and offices were declared as a holiday as part of preventive and safety measures. I was lazing around in my bedroom thinking of how wonderful it had been spending the last 3 days at my house after months of stressful work. This was kind of a mini-vacation that I desperately needed to get recharged to start the same monotonous work that I am now used to doing.
My mom was calling me downstairs for lunch. I told her I would be downstairs in another few minutes hoping to extend lazing around. While I was enjoying my solitude, I felt like I heard someone banging my room windows from the outside.
