Once a rich lady who lived in a spacious mansion became blind. She called an eye specialist. The doctor examined her eye. He did a number of tests. The lady had to live with her blindness for almost one month. She realised how sad the life of blind people is. She came to know the difficulties they face. She was rich so all her work was done by servants and she did not have to suffer much. But it triggered sympathy in her heart, for the blind people.
The eye specialist called some more doctors from abroad. They set up an operation theatre in the lady's mansion. The operation was done and the lady's eyesight was restored. The lady was very happy that she could see again.
She rewarded the doctors handsomely. She asked them to set up an eye hospital in one part of her mansion. She employed them and told them to give free treatment to all the blind patients who come there. In order to help the blind children, she set up a blind school in one part of her mansion. She appointed trained teachers to look after them. In this way she helped them to get a new light in their life.
The lady's mansion became a source of joy and happiness for the blind.
