• Mahendra was a an extremely practical, bold,  and logical thinking  man. He always chided others for their imagination, superstitions, especially  in their to belief in ghosts or spirits. On a full night of the moon, Mahendra who was fast asleep suddenly woke up by a moan outside his window . At the outset he thought it was a mouse or a cat prowling. Nevertheless, for a cat the sound was too feeble & deep. He glanced at the window & saw a  white robed  object  that was floating in the air moaning, shaking and dancing.
• He stood up and looked out the window from the bunk. He saw a dark shadowy figure holding in her arms a bundle petrified. First he thought his eyes played a trick on him, but when he rubbed his eyes  the white robed figure was for real. Suddenly, the white robed figure turned around and came flying with a violent speed towards Mahendra. It looked as if it was to attack Mahendra. Seeing that the white robed object was coming near him, Mahendra shut the window with a bang that resonated like eerie echo.
• What a creepy view it was!  He started sweating  profusely and He fell back on the bed and fear never before grasped him this way. And started chanting the "Hanuman Chalisa" which is believed to ward away all evil. Next morning  his friend came to see him and he  told him about the encounter. His friend was glad to have been able to prove his case. He himself heard the moaning sound. However, as Mahendra returned from his traumatic encounter, Mahendra concluded that his sub-conscious mind must have deceived him and continued with his practical thinking and convincing others that there is no such thing as ghost or spirit
