Ramanand lived in a village. He had no common sense and was often seen doing the silliest of things. He earned his livelihood by cutting wood. One day, while he was doing his work, he saw some groups of people approaching from the far side of the forest towards his village. And they were carrying guns. As he was scared of guns, he rushed to the village and told the headman that he will no longer be cutting wood for them that day as he saw a group of men with guns in the forest. This made the village headman verify things, and then warned everyone to hide. Before the robbers reached, most of the villagers had already went to the caves and safe houses built for times like this. When they reached, they found some old men and women who told them that they had been deserted by their families and moved to other places.So, the robbers turned and went away finding nothing else to do. Once they had gone out of view, the villagers were called back. Thus, the village simpleton who was previously a symbol of ridicule had saved the lives of the whole village.
