Before I answer this I want you to know that short stories are are really fun to write. Why? Because you have absolutely no rules than to include the hints and cope with the grammar. You can give life to your imagination and play with your creativity. So next time, try writing it.I am sure you will love the progress. The following is my attempt of phrasing my imaginations in a story. Hope this will help you:)

I was awoken by a strange nightmare that I barely remembered after I got out of bed. Taking a glance at my parents who were fast asleep, I managed to get out of the house without making a noise. This wasn't the first time I was restless but this was the first time I had a nightmare as terrifying as tonight. Long walks at night had become my stress relievers and so I enjoyed them. I kept thinking about the nightmare, trying to remember atleast pieces of it. Soon I got lost in my thoughts and immersed myself in my absent minded actions. I didn't know how long I was walking for in this dark night but a sudden wolf howl snapped me out of my thoughts. I stopped dead in my tracks and held my breath. Taking a look around, I tried to digest the dark and mysterious surrounds. I knew immediately that my feet brought me to the abandoned forest in Dehradun. This meant that I had covered atleast 10 km by walk. My mom used to tell me stories about the boogeyman in the Dehradun's forest who would take all the children away. I never believed her but now I wish I were more conscious. Like getting lost in a dark forest at night wasn't enough, a bright-eyed wolf lunged in front me from the mountain close by. I closed my eyes, mentally preparing myself for the run I was about to go for but as if the sun has shined on the poor, the forest officers emerged from behind and rescued me. They took me home and told my parents about what happened. And I promised that I would never leave the house without telling them ever again. Moreover, they said they could help me with my sleeping problems too. After all, shared happiness is double happiness and shared sorrow is half a sorrow.

Last summer I had  visited my cousin Pooja living in Dehradun. I had reached Dehradun at night by the bus. I had my dinner with  Pooja and we had some talk, then I went to sleep by 10:30 p.m. In the morning as usual I got up early at 6o’clock and enquired from Pooja the place where I could go for my morning walk.

She told me to go straight  and come back and to not take any turns or short-cuts.

But when I came on the road, I was so delighted by  the nature’s beauty that I went on walking without realizing that I had entered into the forest listening to the  chirping of the birds. The sun was going to rise, the tall thick trees tempted me. I wanted to explore the forest.

I saw beautiful fauna, trees, birds etc. I was busy plucking flowers for my daily Pooja in the temple. I went on,  and on until my whole bag was filled with flowers. Then I tried to find out time, I realized that I was not wearing  my watch. Then I saw the time in my mobile, oh God! It was 7:30, by this time my cousin Pooja will be leaving for  office within half an-hour.

So I lost my way and tried to find some shortcut to reach home. When I was rushing,  I happened to bang against one tree, oh goodness! within few seconds the parallel tree toppled on me pinning  me underneath.

I tried to come out but I couldn’t, then suddenly I thought of giving a call to Pooja but my  mobile was missing. It was lying nearby. I somehow found the mobile, thank-god Pooja’s number was saved in  it.

I called her and asked her help. I told her about the landmark of one tall yellow colour multi-storey building.  She managed to call forest authorities and I was rescued by 9 pm
