. Too Painful
“Our children were born on the same day, in the same hospital, so we became friendly, and then friends. I had a boy, she had a girl. We spent a lot of our maternity leave together, we did the mommy and me classee together, chose the same daycare. We lived so close, our kids were in the same kindergarten and first grade classes.
First day of kindergarten, we took the kids together to get frozen yogurt, and then did the same for first grade. Joked about a new tradition. We, of course, joked our kids would get married.
Her daughter got very ill and died before second grade. For a while, I tried to be supportive, but then it became obvious my son was a reminder of her loss. When she stopped responding to texts and invites, I got the message, but when she had another baby (I was not invited to the shower), i sent a gift, she sent a kind thank-you card. That was it.
We still see each other around. We smile and wave, but we do not speak.”

MARK AS A BRAINLIST
Sameer is my best friend and I am proud of him. But the
beginning of our friendship was quite interesting. It was my first day at the
new school. I was feeling quite uncomfortable among the new classmates and
teachers. I felt students sitting behind me were making fun of me. Once and
twice I looked over my shoulder and found Sameer sitting on the desk behind me.
I felt it was he who was making fun of me. But I was not sure. However, I kept
my cool. I did not talk to any student in the class. A few days passed and I remained
unfriended
Then one day after the dispersal, as I reached the bicycle stand,
I found my bicycle’s tyre flat. That day I did not have any money in my pocket.
I had spent all of it during the break. I stood there thinking what to do. It was
at this moment that Sameer walked up to me. He saw that my bicycle’s tyre was
flat. He asked me, “Can I help you in any manner?” I shared with him my
problem. He immediately gave me rupees fifty. I assured him I would return him
the money the next day. From that day onwards Sameer and I became best friends.
Till today he is my best friend. Later on I cleared my misunderstanding about
the first day at the school. He said it was not him; it were the students
sitting behind him that were making fun of me on the first day of the school.
ALL THE VERY BEST!!
