Or dancing for their harvest.

Beauty is heard

In the night,

Wind sighing,rain falling,

Beauty is in yourself.

Good deeds, happy thoughts

That repeat themselves

In your dreams,

In your work,

And even in your rest.

I clutch you in my hand,  

My fingers grasp a smooth, wrinkly wrapper,  

like a calm, shining lake.  

My ears extend to hear the silent sounds of the sugar,  

Bouncing around inside  

I see hard, bumpy ridges running around the sweet  

like excitable children in a playground  

I smell a fizzy lemon,  

the scent rushing up my nose  

My taste buds have gone crazy,                                        

begging me to take a bite  

I pop it in my mouth,  

Quick and fast, the taste comes sprinting on my tongue.  

I feel a sweet tang explode in my mouth  

Then...I... CRUNCH  

The taste overwhelms me,  

The sherbet cuts my tongue,  

Sharper than a knife.  

Then I swallow                                      

And... It’s gone  

my tongue cries for more  

My soul fills with dread...  

Because...  

All that’s left is the wrapper
