online exams are very beneficial as they aur completely based on conceptual understanding. and for this reason I have been more attentive during my lectures and I also go through the lessons from my text books throughoutly. and the PowerPoint presentation made by our teachers give me in-depth understanding of the topic.

under this new circumstances, I feel less stress about examination hall , legendary question papers, long answer questions, student sitting alongside etc. I have never been so stressed free during an exam before.

the strangest but best part of online learning is that I can sit on my chair in my comfort zone to make my exam.

1) ONLINE EXAMS – BOON OR BANE

Due to the circumstances under the global pandemic, our way of learning and examining what we learnt is far beyond our traditional methods. Schools have shifted to online learning and exams and this has affected students in both a good and bad manner.

✳ BOONS

→ Examinations can now be conducted in a low- cost manner where we need not require papers, pens and other required items as the exams are conducted in a digitalized manner.

→ Great use of digital platforms accustoms students to the digital world.

→ There is no need of transportation facilities for both the invigilators as well as the students as they can write in the comfort of their home.

→ Students can write exams in a much calmer manner as they are writing the exams in their home, an environment they know.

→ Students will also understand much better on how to do time management as exams are in a digitalized manner.

✳ BANES

→ Not all students may have a good network connection and a proper environment required for examinations. This can adversely affect their physical and mental being by arising tension levels.

→ Students may find it difficult to attempt the exams due to poor network issues, glitches in the exam platform or not knowing to use the electronic gadgets properly.

→ There will be an increase rise in malpractices as students have their study material quite next to them.

→ Some students may find the family environment quite disturbing as they have a tendency to get distracted easily.

From this, we can say that online exams have their own pros and cons but they may have an adverse effect on the minds of children by increasing their stress that can seriously affect their results even though they have the opportunity to sit and attempt the exams in the comfort of their homes.

4) Books: My best friend

‘Books are cold but sure companions goes the saying’. Likewise, I am happy and proud to say that my best friend is books.

Our best friends are those who support and help us, teach us new things, make us laugh and be our all in all. Books too act like our best friends all the time though they don’t always talk.

There are many books that inspire us like the Holy Gita, help us like travelogues, entertain us like the stories of Holmes and Feluda and those that help us understand the higher level of life – a spiritual enlightenment such as those written by Osho.

Books are our best friends by birth. The first stories we hear are those told by our mother that contains morals that were once said by ancient preachers like the Panchatantra. In some point of life, we have to refer to books to enrich a better living – a better life.

None of us can push away the fact that we can’t live without books. They are always with us, wherever we go like an unknown glowing light that helps us during the times of difficulties I life.
