This serious health problem is caused by the consumption of unhealthy food. It increases the risk of developing heart diseases, hypertension, diabetes and even cancer. That’s why people become more and more concerned about following a healthy diet.
First of all, one should eat a balanced diet. All foods contain nutrients. There are six important kinds of nutrients: carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals and water. Carbohydrates and fats give us energy. Bread, rice, cereals, pasta, beans, peas and potatoes are good energy foods. Fats are contained in butter, oil, lard, nuts, milk and cheese, fish. Protein foods build the body. Meat, fish, eggs and nuts are rich in protein.
