As if we boycott Chinese products immediately, then there will be a decrease in the supply of such products and goods in the market as Indian producers are not much in production, and this situation will ultimately lead to an increase in the prices of such products and goods in the Indian market. This situation will continue unless the supply will satisfy Indian market demand, and this process may take a long time. So for a short time, there will be a crunch of products and goods, and an increase in their price can be seen in the Indian market. As supply decreases. the supply curve will move upwards and there is upward pressure on prices. Indian producers need to come into the picture soon if we want this transition phase smooth and without having a much effect on the supply side of the market.

Alternative Solution and way ahead

The only feasible Solution to boycott Chinese products is to implement an import-substitution method and produce alternatives to all products.

However, this is far from ideal, at least in the short term. If we wished to create an alternative of all the products currently importing from china, this would entail a substantial reallocation of our resources from efficient to inefficient use. The list of products available to the consumer in the market as a choice would immediately decrease, and fewer options will be there, the quality of the products would worsen, and the price levels would be higher. The important line is that Indian companies need to work much harder before competing with Chinese products. The government also needs to provide improved services and lower the cost at which Indian companies are given loans. India can boycott chines products only when the gap between Indian and China is narrowed. Thus a phase-wise approach must be adopted.
