A parent is a caregiver of the offspring in their own species. In humans, a parent is the caretaker of a child (where "child" refers to offspring, not necessarily age). A biological parent is a person whose gamete resulted in a child, a male through the sperm, and a female through the ovum. Biological parents are first-degree relatives and have 50% genetic meet. A female can also become a parent through surrogacy. Some parents may be adoptive parents, who nurture and raise an offspring, but are not biologically related to the child. Orphans without adoptive parents can be raised by their grandparents or other family members.
A parent can also be elaborated as an ancestor removed one generation. With recent medical advances, it is possible to have more than two biological parents.[1][2][3] Examples of third biological parents include instances involving surrogacy or a third person who has provided DNA samples during an assisted reproductive procedure that has altered the recipients genetic material.[4]
The most common types of parents are mothers, fathers, step-parents, and grandparents. A mother is, "a woman in relation to a child or children to whom she has given birth."[5] The extent to which it is socially acceptable for a parent to be involved in their offspring's life varies from culture to culture, however one that exhibits too little involvement is sometimes said to exhibit child neglect,[6]while one that is too involved is sometimes said to be overprotective, cosseting, nosey, or intrusive.[7]

Good evening everyone present. I am going to expatiate on 'Parents'. Someone has rightly said, 'God could not be everywhere so he created parents'. Our parents are our roots that support us at the base underground; though they are hidden underground, our existence without them is impossible. As there can be no present without the past, similarly, the young cannot have their being without parents. We forget to comprehend their power of keeping our world stable. They earn and work for us! Where would we be without their loving care? Would our survival possible without them? Our very life will come to a standstill without them. Have you ever been hurt? Have you ever undergone the agonizing pains of heartbreak? Have you ever fallen ill? Have you ever felt any dilemma in your life? Have you ever felt lonely and forlorn? If yes, you must be remembering vividly who stands by you through the vicissitudes of dark and hard time! Of course, our parents or grandparents!
Our parents and grandparents shine in our dark world like rays of light. Great authors, leaders, scientists, doctors, etc often had supportive parents. The truth is our parents are the most indispensable part of our life. They are the light of our otherwise dark world. We must respect them and love them for their invaluable light of love and wisdom in our life! It is very unfortunate that in some families, the parents are not given due respect and treated respectfully. They are discarded by their own children for petty things in life. Such lonely elderly parents have to take shelter in old age homes. We must not forget that homes cease to be sweet homes without the parents. They have all the valuable experience and wisdom with them. We must use it to make our life better. Besides, the kind of unconditional love we get from them, no other person or being can give us that type of love. We must hold on to our parents in our families and stay in the light of their love and wisdom. We need them as much as they need us.
