INDISCIPLINE among students is one of the main problems in school and almost all teachers have to deal with it each day.
If left unchecked, it can become a major problem with violence and gangsterism rearing its ugly head. While indiscipline in class can be controlled to a large extent, there are some over-protective parents who either directly or subtly make it known that they don’t want teachers ticking off their children or meting out any kind of punishment on them.
Any wonder why teachers fail misreably in exercising basic rules in class against students who are disruptive, nosiy, violent or rude?
Parents should be made to understand that their children must obey rules so as to make school a conducive learning place.
Studies have shown that children and teens who lack parental love usually face behavioural issues and are likely to be troublesome.
In a nutshell, teachers and parents have to work together in ensuring that students should be guided with good values and morals.
While gaining good academic grades are important, our children must also learn to be law-abiding citizens.
