Playing in road itself screams "DANGER"
Fields and playgrounds are meant for playing. In the absence of a playground in neighbourhood compel children or sports lovers to find an alternative. They play in gully, terrace, any large open field. Also road is taken into consideration. While involved too much in game, children often fails to realise the hazards of playing on the road. Road is meant for public transport. There are lots of vehicles passing. From cycle to cars and trucks, anything can hit any player. Even if playing on the side of road is not safe, an overtaking car, a speeding truck, a bike or anything can just hit the person which can be fatal for life. Often it is seen that children play cricket on road side and while chasing the ball they often comes in front of a vehicle. This situation can cause a major accident or even death of the driver, or the player or any person coming under the uncontrolled vehicle.
Road is not meant to play.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Playing on the road is always fraught with danger, more so in cities and towns than in our villages. As vehicular traffic multiplies by the day, this risk is becoming more and more severe. In order to prevent accidents, this dangerous activity must be stopped without further ado.
It is the duty of our town administrations to ensure that more and more parks are made available to the children for their recreational activities and for the parents/guardians to dissuade children from playing on the road to prevent mishaps.
In our schools, children must have the opportunity to indulge in sports and games as part of their curriculum, which would prevent them from the temptation of playing on roads. The teachers too should explain the dangers of such a dangerous activity.
I trust all of us can jointly make an effort to prevent this dangerous activity forthwith.
Thank you.
