Explanation:

MORAL DEGRADATION IN THE CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY

In our immediate society, morals are eroding at a very high rate. The culture is eventually facing objection and being put aside to pave way for foreign 'better' cultures which do not follow nor respect the morals and norms of our society.

Marriage is no longer a process as it used to be but a joke to find something serious at long last, Our clothing is moving from worse to worst with our daughters walking in the streets almost naked, our morals are eroding and if there shall be no immediate action taken, then we shall drown.

Answer:

            Moral Degradation in Contemporary Society

Good morning everyone; I am going to speak on 'Moral Degradation in Contemporary Society'.

Albert Einstein, one of the greatest scientists of all times very wisely said: ‘Try not to become a man of success but a man of values.’  Ethics and values are the hallmark of character. Character cannot be conceived of without them. The way there can be no light without the sun, similarly, there can be no character without ethics and values. All great men and women of all times and in all climes have been role models of character for all of us. Each one of them stood for certain values. These icons of success embodied in themselves values that form a real character. They were men and women who displayed unparalleled perseverance, dedication, single-minded focus, and commitment.  They were hard workers, who courted success with their heart, body, mind, and soul. Success made them go through many painful ordeals before she consented to them.

However, in the modern times, high morals, values, and ethics seem to have been eroded pathetically. The canker that has undermined the strength of human values is materialism. The morals have gone so down that prime purpose of man's existence is pecuniary pursuits. Man has stooped so low that he sacrifices even the most sacred relations for the sake of material gains. Gone are the days of brotherly, sisterly, fatherly, or motherly love. Man can break all ties of love and respect for the sake of money and property! All ethics, etiquette, decency, and decorum have gone to dogs. Life has become merely trade, commerce and profit earning. So wherever man finds some financial gain or advantage, he honors those relations. The rest is least said the better!

So, if we are planning to be men and women of character, we must make our value system very strong and ethics impregnable. We must learn the art of overcoming meanness, selfishness, greediness and other carnal temptations. Our nation and world need some real men and women of character to put the world in order.
