Answer:
There is no shortcut to success and one can achieve their goal only through hard work and dedication. Education is the tool which can help one in achieving his/her goals, said Visakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman M.T. Krishna Babu.
Addressing the students at the inaugural of a three-day free training programme for youth, students and parents, organised jointly by the Sai Ganapathi College, Millennium Software Solutions and Minerva School at the Port Kalavani auditorium here on Friday, the Port Chairman said that of the four to five lakh Civil Service aspirants every year, only the top 50 or 100 make it to the IAS (Indian Administrative Service).
This was an indication of the stiff competition that students would have to face in attaining their goals and advised the students not to get distracted and waste their time as they would have to repent for it later.
Mr. Krishna Babu cautioned parents against pampering their children as that would weaken their resolve. There were tremendous opportunities these days and socially backward students could make use of the opportunities being provided to them by the government. He also underlined the importance of keeping oneself fit all the time through proper food and sleeping habits, physical exercise, abstaining from smoking and drugs, positive thinking, being cheerful and proper body language.
He advised the students to develop the habit of reading one good English newspaper every day, right from their Standard VIII, to widen their knowledge of various issues. These would be very useful in group discussions and interviews for various competitive examinations. He also advised them to pick up a good hobby as it could pep up their spirits. He advised the students not to miss the sessions during the three days.
