People with special needs don't want sympathy they just need acceptance
Good evening everyone. I am here to talk about this topic which is very close to my heart since I am a mother of a 13 year old Down Syndrome boy.
Our children, just like typical children need to belong to a play group, school group. We need our education system to include these special children into mainstream schooling, so these children know they are accepted by society.
Sometimes it is a simple Hi that can show a special needs person acceptance. So next time you see special needs person, go ahead and say a hello, and light up a special needs person's face.
They do not need your sympathy, they just need your love, your time to listen to them, and inclusion in your activities whether it is play or education, or any other group activity.
I'd like to thank you for giving me this opportunity to talk to you today, and hope it will bring a change in your attitude towards these special needs people.
