Answer:

Your teacher is your Guru and your preceptor. All our sacred texts have mentioned how spiritual guides and teachers, sages and saints with the strength of their character, upright morals and strenuous practices, had remained fearless when attacked by men of physical might.

A student's tomorrow is moulded by what teachers teach them today. The children's imaginative faculties have to be exploited, their inner potentials drawn out and moral, aesthetic and spiritual philosophy awakened. For carrying out this mission, teachers must be patted on the back and they must get all the support they need.

Teachers have a tremendous sense of satisfaction and fulfilment in being able to guide and make so many innocent, young people bloom and progress in life, especially in these times when there is despair, blatant neglect, boredom and hostility all around.

When a teacher enters the classroom, the students' hopeful eyes welcome and follow her/ him and the most cherished moment is the one while explaining a lesson, when there is brightness in their eyes. They adore their teachers; and for the teachers the greatest satisfaction and a true sense of achievement comes when they see their students' personalities develop. Every teacher loves to see that the students are groomed into vibrant, mature and wise young men and women ready to face the great world.

We always respect our Gurus hailing them as pathfinders because of the noble job they do. It is, therefore, sad that today we have diluted the appeal of the 'guru-shishya parampara'. It is in this context that my granduncle, Maulana Azad, himself a towering educationist, had said very truly, "Teachers are the builders of the nation. Respect them, support them!"
