Answer:

Knowledge is theoretical whereas experience is practical. All things being equal experience is more useful than knowledge since the real world often behaves differently than the textbook. But if you're limited by experience (note, having a good or bad data point may not qualify as "experience" since the outcome could have been "random"), then learning about other experiences is better than nothing. Example: if I go to several Japanese restaurants, I can make a conclusion about whether I like Japanese restaurant food. If I went to only one, however, then my experience may be more the function of the place than the characteristics of the cuisine itself. But if I've never eaten Tibetan food, but read it's like a hybrid between Indian and Chinese, then I can infer that I may or may not like it based on my experiences with the two. I can then choose to check one out to verify the hypothesis
