No pain, No gain
There were two stones, who loved their life. They were huge in size. Once, a sculptor approached one stone and asked
"Can I make a statue out of you?"
"A statue, No way. You will hammer me, and it hurts me. Also my size will be reduced. You cannot make a statue out of me"
The sculptor was very sad. He wanted to make a statue to show his skills. So, now he approached the other stone, hoping that it would help him. He asked,
" Can I make a statue out of you? "
"Hmm, a statue, sure you can, but I have one condition."
"What is it?"
" Well, Just turn me into a beautiful one."
The sculptor readily agreed. He was very happy. So, he started hammering the stone. He beared immense pain and finally it was turned into a beautiful deity.
When, the sculptor displayed his amazing talent, to the audience, they were impressed. It was made with perfection. The manager of the district too saw the deity. He said the sculptor
" Wow, Your work is simply amazing, I would love to make a temple for this deity."
The sculptor was delighted. He lend the deity to the district manager, and earned a lot of money. A beautiful temple was built, and the deity was now treated with extreme care. The other stone which disagreed with the sculptor was now of no use, except to break coconuts on it!

The Secret
Two brothers Naven and promod belonged to a modest family and lived in a mediocre house in as small township of Uttar Pradesh. Their father was working with the goverment as a superintendent. The father would go to the office in his old Bajaj Scooter. The mother, like a traditional woman, would look after the house, and the sons as usual were busy with their school, home-work and tests. Life was going on smoothly with not very high ambitions or aspirations. Naveen and promod’s father Ram lal was quite satisfied and contented with whatever he lad.
Of the two brothers Naveen the elder one, was a highly unassuming child, very quiet but intelligent and hard working, whereas Pramod was just the opposite , very playful, a big prankster and care-free. He did not take his studies or for that matter any work seriously. Since they were studying in the same school, all teachers and students grew fond of Naveen because of his good behaviour and excellent academic performance. He become the darling of all and Promod too was fond of his brother and affectionate towards him but somehow temperamentally he could not imbibe good qualities that Naveen had. Since there was not much age difference between them, they were more like good friends than brothers.
Exams were drawing near and both had started working for that. After about a month the results were declared . Naveen stood first whereas Promod had failed in all major subjects. He was very depressed and started crying. He was feeling bad thinking that they had both studied together but his brother has done so well and his performance was dismal. Their father summoned him and told him the secret of Naveen’s success. He explained that consistent hard work and not losing sight of your goal is the mantra of success. Those who can internalize their goal can actually achieve them also. The father continued and told Promod that nothing much has been lost as yet. He still had many more years to accomplish what he had lost now, but he also must remember he can not waste or lose time again and then keep hoping things will be alright . “THE SECRET” is to set your targets and then strive hard to achieve those.
