Answer:
Hunting With The Lion "
It was a dry summer. The animals in the forest were beginning to find it difficult to get food. Survival was getting difficult in the forest for all animals due to lack of resource.
In this troubled times one day a bear, a wolf and a jackal thought it would be better to join hands with a lion and do the hunting. They approached lion and he too agreed. The four of them went off hunting.
The hunting party stick to their strengths and devised a plan for hunting as they came across a buffalo.
The fox and wolf chased the buffalo (as they were good at it).
The bear intercepted the buffalo and the lion killed him.
The fox made shares out of the buffalo.
When they were about to take their shares the lion roared and said, "Well friends, the first share is mine for my leadership. The second share is mine for, it is I who killed. The third share is also mine for I need it for my cubs. Anyone who needs a share can take the fourth. But before that you will have to win me."
All the three (FOX, Wolf and the Bear) left the forest without a single word for greener pastures.
MORAL:
Confidence on the leader thrives on honesty, honor, and sacredness of obligations, faithful protection and unselfish behaviour. Without them it cannot live.
“A good leader takes a little more than his share of the blame, a little less than his share of the credit” -Arnold H. Glasow
Management Lesson in the context of the working world:
As I analysed by peeling off layers from the onion in search of root causes and grouped the reasons for leaving of the hi performers (the Fox, Wolf, and the Bear of the working world, men who deliver peak performance in the most toughest of times), it became clear that in the end employees begin to disengage and think about leaving when one or more of the four fundamental human needs are not being met:
1. The Need for Trust: Expecting the company and management to deliver on its promises, to be honest and open in all communications with you, to invest in you, to treat you fairly, and to compensate you fairly and on time.
2. The Need to Have Hope: Believing that you will be able to grow, develop your skills on the job and through training, and have the opportunity for advancement or career progress leading to higher earnings.
3. The Need to Feel a Sense of Worth: Feeling confident that if you work hard, do your best, demonstrate commitment, and make meaningful contributions, you will be recognized and rewarded accordingly. Feeling worthy also means that you will be shown respect and regarded as a valued asset, not as a cost, to the organization.
4. The Need to Feel Competent: Expecting that you will be matched to a job that makes good use of your talents and is challenging, receive the necessary training to perform the job capably, see the end results of your work, and obtain regular feedback on your performance.
