Uday was a young boy of fifteen years. His father was a poor man who could not afford to pay his school fees. On the other hand Uday was bright child who wanted to continue his studies and do something brave as well so as to win recognition far and wide. He had a helpful nature and was always ahead if somebody needed his help. One day he was coming back from his friend’s house when he saw two people talking to each other in a low tone. He did not pay much attention to them and walked ahead of them. Somehow he could not stop himself from overhearing them. He just heard a few word like crowded place good for their work and blast. He thought over it and was shocked to realise that they must be talking about some bomb-explosion. He looked around so that he could follow them but they had disappeared. He went back on the way where he had seen them first and realised that he was only some distance away from a fair which was going on in that area. He ran inside the fair-ground and informed the authorities present there about his doubt. At first they did not believe him and took him to be a bogey man but then they made the announcement to clear the ground. People started running for their lives. Everyone was trying to rush out of that place as early as possible. Within five minutes the field was empty. Meanwhile the sniffing dogs had been called in by the security guards from the police station. The dogs took a round of the field and found a small rubber ball lying in a corner. A ticking sound was coming from that ball. The bomb-diffusion squad had also reached the spot. They took the ball and tried to find out what exactly it was. It took them some time to make out that it was a bomb which had been planted to terrorise the people. The squad took the ball with them to diffuse it. Everyone was patting Uday’s shoulder for being so alert in informing the authorities. He had arrested the plan of terrorists. He was very happy. The next day all the leading newspapers were full of the report appreciating the little boy Uday who had saved so many lives.

Answer:

Brave boy Ramu

Explanation:

Ramu was a simple village boy. He studied at his village school till Std V. After that, he moved to Hyderabad for further studies. Hyderabad was new to him and he stayed with his uncle, who had lived in the city for a long time. Every day, his uncle would drop him off at school on the way to his office.

One day, his uncle had to go to office earlier than usual and Ramu had to go to school by himself. He knew the way and managed to reach school on time without any problem. In the evening, when school was out, two strangers at the school gate greeted Ramu. They saw Ramu and rushed to him. “We are from your village,” said one man. “Your mother and father sent us to bring you from Hyderabad.” Ramu believed them and got into their van to go to his hometown. Ramu didn’t realise that they were actually kidnappers.

Later, Ramu told them that the road they were on was not the route to his village. “This is another route to your village,” they said. But Ramu had his suspicions and understood that he was being kidnapped. He sat and observed the road, and when they stopped the van for a break, Ramu got down and ran to the main road. He flagged down a passing vehicle and got a ride back to the city. His uncle was waiting worriedly.

Since then, Ramu became bolder and went to school on his own.
