A friend in need is a friend indeed. The saying is old yet holds true. During my teenage I ended up being with a boy who was very abusive and violent. He used to blackmail and threaten me that he would spoil my life.

Being young and naive I gave in and accepted it as my fate. I found it hard to get out of the mess I had landed myself into. The only resort I could think of was to either run away or end my life.

My best friend realized the change in my behavior and suggested me to see a psychiatrist. With her as well as the counselor's help I got the courage to speak to my parents who were supportive enough to pull me out of the abusive relationship.

It was all because of my best friend that I was saved.
