Answers
Answer:
Story
Explanation:
It is not always true that slow and steady wins the race. My grandfather loved the saying a lot.He used to tell me of his adventures as a youth. He had fought in the Vietnam War and he had a lot of war stores to keep us entertained during our entire holidays.
His favorite story and one he used to retell often was during the time he missed death by a whisker. They had been hiding from the vicious Vietcong for days. They had run out of food and water the Vietcong had suddenly appeared out of nowhere and ambushed them. They were captured and ted to trees. The Vietcong moved very fast. My grandfather noticed that they were very quick in battle too.
The Americans moved n long convoys of armored vehicles while the Vietcong moved n very small groups of between three to four men. The Vietcong also knew the terrain well.
They would usually strike at the bewildered Americans and then retreat quickly to their hideouts.
My grandfather and his compatriots were eventually rescued but he never forgot the lesson.
